Today marks the end of  he road for another still life.  I’ve been working on this one for the better part of a month now in preparation for a birthday gift.  I’m very plaesed with the outcome.  This painting has allowed me the opportunity to paint a number of different textures, as well as objects that I may have shyed away from

Leeks, work in progress update 3

Work on Leeks continues.  I only have a couple more opportunities to work on this painting.  My focus has been on pushing the onions and leeks, as they are the things that are going to change the most.  I’m happy with those now, and I’m thinking it’s time to really push the crystal vase and the blue and white pot.  After that, I just have to wrap up the pattern on the printed cloth.

Today was one of those days that really signals a turning point in a painting.  You can see where I started today in my previous post, and then where I finished.  I still have miles to go on all of the pattern work, but things are really starting to take shape.  I’m really enjoying the light background on this still life. It’s something different for me, but I think we’re going to see this one again.
